Valerie Y. PettyApril 29, 1935 - October 27, 2015Valerie Y. Petty passed away peacefully on October 27, 2015. Mom was born on April 29, 1935 to Ralph and Valerie Vance in Rushville, Illinois. She married the absolute love of her life, Ralph E. Petty, on February 5, 1950 at the tender age of 14. They had almost 64 years of loving and caring for each other before Dad's passing in December of 2013. Mom's life was spent caring for their children, going fishing and camping, and listening to Dad tell tall tales. Mom and Dad were inseparable. If you saw one of them, the other one was always nearby.Valerie is survived by her children, Becky Thomas (Terry), Kathy Hill (Mike), Kevin Petty (Norma), Roger Petty (Carolyn) and Yvonne Liermann (Rod); sisters Patsy, Ginny, Karen Sue and Denise; brothers Larry and Ronald; 10 Grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, 2 brothers, Harlan and Caril Ray, and a dear grandson, Matt Petty. On Friday, October 30, 2015 there will be a viewing at noon with services to follow at 1:00 pm at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave S. Nampa, Idaho.
