An Exceptional Man

Tyrone Brazil Sr., 65, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed on September 30, 2023.

Tyrone Brazil was born February 18, 1958. To the Late Charles Braziel S.r. and the late Freddie Lee Braziel, at Divine Providence Hospital on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a student of Pittsburgh Public Schools, where he attended Conroy Elementary, Knoxville Junior High and went on to graduate from Carrick High School. Class of 1975. While at Carrick he was a member of the Track and Field team where his record in track remains unbroken to this very day!!

As a child Tyrone enjoyed various sports and listening to many genres of music (rock and roll, jazz and R&B). He had a musical album collection that was second to none, that is priced to be in the tens of thousands of dollars. Tyrone was an avid photographer and could always be found taking pictures of friends and family. Being the oldest child of his mother, who was a widower, Tye became the family provider. Upon going to the military, he would send a portion of his income home monthly to ensure his family’s needs were met.

Upon graduation Tye was sworn into the United States Army, where he was a Vulcan Military Tank Mechanic. He was stationed at Red Stone Arsenal Camp, in Alabama, 1st Cavalry Armored Division in Schwabach, Germany, and later Fort Hood Texas, where he met the love of his life. Pamela Pricer. They returned to Pittsburgh, where they solidified their love by uniting in marriage on October 2, 1982. Their loving union brought forth 3 children; Tyrone Jr., Candice, and Derrick.

Tyrone was employed and later retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He was a devout STEELERS fan, who never missed a game.

He also loved to cook. He was a self proclaimed “Grill Master” whose ribs and brisket were top tier! He loved family trips to Morraine State Park, where he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His loving wife, Pamela. His children; Tyrone Brazil Jr., Candice Davis (A.J.), and Derrick Brazil. His siblings; Pastor Melvin Braziel (Valda), Valerie Hobson (Del), and Charles Braziel. Grandchildren; Alexis, Nijah, Dorian, Lamarr, Tyrone Brazil III, Spanish, Lorenzo, Mia, Asaan, Ameir, and Caiah.

He also leaves behind a host of relatives and plenty of friends.
