Tylor Sandra SMITH Obituary

Oct 20, 1938 - Mar 13, 2017

This obituary is administered by:
SMITH, Tylor SandraTylor Sandra Smith was born on October 20, 1938, in Spalding, Saskatchewan. She died peacefully in Saskatoon on March 13, 2017. Tylor was one of seven children born to George and Bertha (nee Pearce) Smith. She is survived by her siblings Janet Kunz, Marlene Hudson, George Smith, Bonnie Rossman, and Randy Smith, 15 nephews and nieces, and lifelong friend, Marie Stevenson. She was predeceased by her parents, and by her sister Valerie Kerpan. Tylor received her education at Chelton Elementary School, Spalding High School, and St. Ursula's Academy in Bruno, Saskatchewan. She later trained at the Spalding Hospital as a nurse's aide. Tylor lived in every major city in Western Canada, where she was employed to open numerous health spas. She eventually settled in Vancouver, a city she loved. Due to medical issues, Tylor relocated to Saskatoon in 2015 in order to be closer to her family. Tylor forged her own unique path in life, with no apologies for staying true to herself. She strongly believed that one controls their own destiny; she lived this way and she encouraged everyone she met to do the same. Tylor was connected to all things spiritual; she practiced energy healing and was passionate about holistic and alternative health. Tylor loved variety and thrived on the freedom and diversity of her work. Tylor valued education and excellence and she took pride in practicing and perfecting her skills. She was perpetually curious and keenly aware, always learning and expanding her mind. While Tylor noticed and appreciated the little things in life, she was also inspired to take on social justice issues and became an advocate and friend to the oppressed. She positively motivated others to 'colour outside the lines' and follow their dreams just as she did, often saying "Go for it!" to whomever she was speaking. Tylor was a humble and unsuspecting role model to many, a modern renaissance woman ahead of her time. "Let the beauty we love be what we do" Rumi
