It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tonya Griffin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Tonya was born on July 9, 1952, in Dover, Delaware to Anderson Xavier Griffin and Gladis Marie Griffin.

She married the love of her life, Joseph Mahleek Griffin, in 1978 and together they raised two children, Joseph Mahleek Griffin Jr (married to Jasmine Rose Griffin) and Serenity Faith Griffin (married to Caleb Jabari Griffin). Tonya was also a loving grandmother to four grandchildren.

Tonya attended Dover High School and graduated in 1970. She went on to have a successful career working at Holiday Inn, where she eventually retired in 2018.

In her free time, Tonya loved to crochet and bake, bringing joy to those around her with her creations. Her warm smile and caring nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

On August 31, 2025, Tonya passed away after a brave battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
