It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Tommy D. Ortega, who went home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the age of 51. He was born on November 20, 1965 in T or C to Mike and Virginia Ortega. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kathy Ortega; son Michael; daughters, Amanda (Julian), Tommie Rae, and Breana. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Izabela, Jaime, Riley, Jacklynn and Jocelynn; his parents, Mike and Virginia; his sister, Lisa Trujillo (Gary); his mother-in-law, Connie Martinez; his brother-in-law, Larry B. (Cecilia); sister-in-law, Cindy Martinez (Ralph), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Serving as casket bearers will be Art Sanchez, Ricky Ortega, Brian Torres, Ron Trevino, Dennis Padilla, Danny Romero, Gary Trujillo, and Larry B. Martinez. Honorary bearers will be Julian Pena, Matthew Romero, Ubaldo Benavidez IV, Daniel Martinez, and Ruben Martinez.Visitation will begin at 9 AM Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina, with the Rosary scheduled for 9:30 AM and the Funeral Mass to follow immediately thereafter.
