Tomas Tafoya, age 55 of Painesville, died on December 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 4, 1961 in Honolulu to the late Louis and Jane (Bate) Tafoya. Tomas was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing, reading, going to the gun range, coaching softball, technology, playing his favorite game Doom, cooking, and spending time with his family. Survivors are his daughters, Maria (Dustin Greene) Tafoya, Sara (Mike Gray) Tafoya; grandchildren, Wyatt Tafoya, and Mikal Gray; siblings, Jeff (Tillie) Tafoya, Elena (Abe) Trotter, Teresa (Joe) Lucero, and Andy (Maryanne) Tafoya. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kelly. Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a service to follow at 4 p.m. with military honors at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., (opposite Lake Erie College) Painesville, Ohio.
