No services are scheduled at this time for Thomas William Vining of Artesia. Mr. Vining, 74, passed away on July 16, 2017 at Artesia General Hospital. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Thomas was born on January 25, 1943 in Parkston, SD; the son of Edward and Martha (Wudel) Vining. He came to Artesia in 2011 from Carlsbad. He was a Mudlogger in the oil field, a member of the Sportsman's Club and enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward Vining. Survivors include his daughter Stephanie Hughes and husband Justin of Artesia and Holly Shaughnessy and husband Kevin of Littleton, CO; sisters Helen Ewing of Sedalia, MO and Mary Ferguson of Worthington, MN; grandchildren Allyson, Dylan, Jackson, Ryan Quinn, Torrance and Trace.
