Thomas L. Dean, age 57, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on October 19, 1957, in Ellwood City, PA, to Jay "Fred" Dean, and the late Helen Louise (Duncan) Dean. On August 6, 2011, he married Patty Hetrick in KnoxDale, PA. He was a lumber grader, and eventually retired from a career in industrial construction. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #983, and the Firemens Club, both in Brookville, PA. He is survived by 1 daughter, Lacey M. Dean; 1 step-daughter, Sarah (Neal) Sorek; 1 step-son, Rob Hughey, all of Brookville; 6 sisters, Betsy (Don) Shanor of Beaver Falls, PA; Alene (Bill) Joiner of Brookville, PA; Susan Olson of Indiana, PA; Dottie (Jim) McStay of Kissimmee, Fla.; Kathy (Ben) Park of Corsica, PA; Ruthanne "Rusty" (John) Pickard of Butler, PA; 2 brothers, Jay Fred Dean Jr., of Portersville, PA, and Rob Dean of Brookville, PA; 1 grandchild, Ryker Crew Dean; 2 step-grandchildren, Ava and Luke Sorek. He is also survived by his pet, and best friend, Barney. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm, at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Meade Chapel, on KnoxDale Road, in Knox Twp., Jefferson Co., beginning at 10:00am, with Pastor Steve Kornbau officiating. Interment to take place at the Meade Chapel Cemetery.
