Thomas Gavin, 78, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2023, due to a heart attack. He was born on January 1, 1945, to his parents Bill and Annie Gavin, both of whom preceded him in death.

Tom was married to the love of his life, Maggie Gavin, in 1944, and they shared a beautiful life together, raising three wonderful children. Jim Gavin and his wife Diane, Brian Gavin and his wife Christine, and Colleen Gavin and her husband Ryan were all blessed to call Tom their dad.

Tom was also a doting grandparent to six grandchildren who will always remember him as their loving grandpa.

After graduating from West Catholic High School in 1962, Tom continued his studies at DePaul University. He went on to work at Lacks Trim Enterprises, where he made many lifelong friends.

Tom will always be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved nothing more than spending time with his family. His sense of humor and love of life will never be forgotten, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
