Thomas Eugene Lockhart, 77, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed on May 23, 2023. Gene was born on August 11, 1945 to Jake and Emogene Lockhart in Jackson, Tennessee. Gene graduated from Northside High School in 1965. He went on to join the armed forces and proudly served his country in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he started working for the railroad as a switchman kickstarting a 20 year career with ICG. He also worked at Machine Tool & Supply for 17 years. On December 30, 1975, Gene married Lynda Biggerstaff. Together, they raised three children, Baron Cooper (Kim), Toni Matlock (John), and Milynda Newsom (Clint). When he was 62 years old in 2007, Gene retired and spent his time looking for arrowheads, camping at the river, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved doing anything outdoors. He loved his family very much and would do anything for them... especially his grandkids! Gene was predeceased by his father and mother Jake and Emogene Lockhart. He is survived by two brothers Jack Lockhart, Robert Lockhart (Lorraine), his wife Lynda Lockhart, children Milynda Newsom (Clint), Toni Matlock (Eddie), Baron Cooper (Kim), his grandchildren Haley Herlth (David), Bailey Smith (Caleb), Britney Brown (Darian), Ali Kemp (Ryan), Rebecka Killough, Wesley Matlock, Ashlinn Newsom, Amelia Newsom, Tobin Newsom, and his great grandchildren Lucy Smith, Oliver Brown, Luca Smith, Beckham Brown, and Lily Grace Kemp, and many nieces and nephews.
