Pochert, Thomas Anthony Thomas Anthony Pochert, 78, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Browns Valley, California, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on October 12, 2017. Tom was born on January 12, 1939. He was the oldest of five children and grew up in Milwaukee where he honed his tremendous skills as an artist at his parents' Sketch Mart and Sketch Bar. Tom graduated from Messmer HS in 1957. He graduated from UWM in 1963, with an MA in Art Education. He moved to the Los Angeles area in 1963, and worked as an art teacher and tennis coach at Bassett HS. On January 14, 1967, he married Janice (Roemhildt), whom he met while teaching at Bassett HS. His daughter, Jeanne-Marie, was born in October 1971. Later in life he basked in the joys of being a grandfather to Ryan Anthony and Jillian Margaret. Tom is preceded in death by his father, Anthony, and his mother, Margaret. Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice, his daughter, Jeanne-Marie (Jim), grandchildren, Ryan and Jillian; and siblings, Tonia Kountz, Gary Pochert, Christine (Jerry) Pochert-Ringle, and Terry Urban.
