Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Elmcrest Baptist Church, 517 N. Pioneer Dr. with Jerry Vincent officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.Thom was born on June 20, 1935 in Laos. He was a loving husband and caring father. A self educated man; Thom made many sacrifices for his family and home. His passion was family, from making sure his wife and children were fed and sheltered to making sure that his family grew up to be compassionate people too. Thom's love for his family held no bounds. He has touched so many people's lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He is preceded in death by his wife, Somjit; and two sons, Noi Yashanawong and Nonh Shanawong. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Phou and Vanchai Yashanawong both of Abilene; daughters, Phone Panyanouvong and husband, Oukeo of Tucson, AZ, Phit Kaikratoke and husband, Jack of Abilene, and Somchay Yashanawong of Abilene; his sister-in-law, Paijit Crump and husband, Robert of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Sean Pettit, Ned Panyanouvong, Johnathan Yashanawong, and Polly Panyanouvong; and great-grandchildren, Gage and Macy Pettit, and Ayden Panyanouvong.You may view and sign the guestbook at www.elliotthamilfuneralhome.com
