Bickel, Theodore D. "Ted" Jr. ,66, of Fern Creek, Kentucky passed away on August 11, 2017. His love for family, dedication to serving others, and sense of humor will be missed by family, friends, and his 17 year old dog, Snickers. He spent the majority of his career as a chemistry teacher and cross country coach.Ted was born on October 7, 1950, in Danville, KY. He is preceded in death by his mother, Florence Bickel; and sister, Sheila Bickel.Ted is survived by his wife, Paula Bickel; father, Theodore D. Bickel, Sr.; children, Theodore William Bickel, Timothy Bickel (Elizabeth); step-daughters, Michelle Young, Patty Kasdorf (Brandon) and Melissa Young (Jamale Klein). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Hurstbourne Christian Church (601 Nottingham Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222) In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blessings in a Backpack foundation.
