Thelma Mattox, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 101. She was born on August 11, 1924, to her father John Dandridge and mother Mary Dandridge. Thelma was married to Thomas Mattox in 1950 and they had three children: Vermel Butler, Denise Cummings, and John Mattox.

Thelma was a retired nurse, having dedicated her life to caring for others. She retired in 1989 and spent her days enjoying time with her grandchildren and volunteering for various organizations. In her free time, she loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family.

Thelma will be remembered for her caring nature, her love for her family, and her infectious smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
