BURLINGTON - Thelma F. Brehm, age 74, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Kindred Nursing & Rehab. She was born on October 4, 1937 to the late Walter and Lucille (nee Neumeg) Albrecht. Thelma spent her early life in Antigo and was a graduate of Antigo High School. On June 6, 1959 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington, Thelma was united in marriage to William "Bill" Brehm. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Thelma had worked for Southern Colony and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She volunteered with the Special Olympics, coaching track as well as helping out with various other activities. Thelma was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed playing slots and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and friends at her home up north on Lake Venus. Thelma loved hummingbirds and her cats and dogs. Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Bill Brehm, their children; David (Lisa) Brehm, Doug (Kim) Brehm and Linda Brehm, all of Burlington, grandchildren; Jenny, Tyler, Serra and Shawn, siblings; Walt (Alice) Albrecht, Everett Albrecht, Deanie (Wayne) Jarvis and Sandy (Mike) Holup, and by sister-in-law, Betty (Monty) Spiegelhoff. Thelma is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Louann Brehm, a grandson, Jacob Brehm, sister-in-law, Judy Brehm and by brother-in-law, Bob Brehm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Private burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been suggested to the Special Olympics. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Kindred Nursing & Rehab as well as Allay Hospice for all their care they gave to Thelma.
