Terry A. Shields, 48Gaston - Terry A. Shields, 48, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 following an extended illness.He was born on February 25, 1969 in Muncie, the son of James Shields and Ann (Barnhouse) Shockley. Terry worked for J.B. Hunt as a truck driver for several years. He married Brenda K. Bilbrey on January 16, 1988 in Muncie.Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Brenda Shields of Gaston; son, Terry Shields II of Jamestown, TN; daughter, Ashley Shields of Gaston; grandsons, Christopher and Chase Shields; granddaughters, Charity and Chloe Shields; dad, Patrick Shockley Sr. of Muncie; brothers, Jerry Shields (wife, Shanna) of Eaton, David Barnhouse (wife, Debbie) of Monticello, KY, John Wooten (companion, Rhonda) of Albany, Jim Shields of Muncie, and Mark Tirus Young (companion, Jeani) of Muncie; sister, Bobbi Cooper of Hartwell, GA; step-brothers, Richard Bryan of Muncie and Patrick Shockley (companion, Denise) of Muncie; step-sister, LaSonja Ingram of Middletown; and thirteen nephews and ten nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rita Shields.Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortuary.com
