This obituary is administered by:
Ted A. Raguse 1952 - 2016 Ted A. Raguse, 64, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, after a short and courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side. Ted was born on Jan. 7, 1952, in Racine to Marvin J. and Carmen (nee DeMatthew) Raguse. Ted grew up in Racine where he graduated from J.I. Case High School, class of 1970. He attended Parkside for one year, prior to starting his career with UPS. He resided in Kansasville, Wis., for 35 years. He was united in marriage on Sept. 29, 1979, to Lynn M. Koetterhagen at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Waterford. Together, Ted and Lynn loved traveling out West, hiking in the mountains and especially visiting the Black Hills area of South Dakota. Participation in numerous events in the Black Hills led to many friendships around the world that were dear to his heart. He had a love and respect of nature. He was a modest person who loved to tell stories. He also had a passion for western movies. Ted was a proud father of two sons, Alan and Joseph. He enjoyed spending quality time with them on vacations out West, fishing in Canada, and weekend get-togethers. He took pride in sharing his wisdom with them. Like most retirees, he was chipping away at his bucket list, including a recent trip to Nome, Alaska, gold prospecting. Ted retired from United Parcel Service after 35 years of service. He was known for his famous quote, "I love my job." He received national recognition for accumulating more than 30 years of safe driving. After retirement he felt the need to keep busy, working part-time at Lake Geneva Country Meats. Surviving are his loving wife, Lynn; sons, Alan and Joseph (fiancée Brittany Cagney); father and mother-in-law, Cletus and Ione Koetterhagen; brother, Marvin J. (Julie) Raguse; nephews, Karl Raguse, Kurt (Annmarie) Raguse and Ross Raguse. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ted will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Brighton, with Rev. Russ Arnett officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
