Sylvia K. Davis, 70, died at 5:57 p.m., Tuesday at her residence in Van Wert. She was born on November 21, 1944, in Jellico, Tenn., the daughter of the late, Alfred and Dessie Murray Stokes. On July 15, 1984, she married Dennis Davis who survives in Van Wert. Other family members include, one son, Darrin Day of Sidney, Ohio; one daughter, Denesa Goings of Sidney; a brother, Stanley (Glenda) Stokes of New Haven, Ind.; a sister, Sandra Allen of Jellico, Tenn.; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a special friend, Penny Wiles of Van Wert. Sylvia was retired from the Convoy Care Center. Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16 at the Cowan & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Lawrence officiating. Calling hours are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. Preferred memorials are to the Thomas Edison School in Van Wert.Cowan & Son Funeral Home of Van Wert, Ohio was in charge of arrangements.
