Sumiko Uyeda (Kato), 91, passed peacefully on April 30, 2016 in Fair Oaks, CA. She was born February 4, 1925 in Oakland, CA. to Noboru and Chiyo Kato.

She was long time resident of Petaluma, CA, and was a dedicated homemaker and community volunteer.

She was married for 44 years and is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Uyeda. Survived by son, Stanley Uyeda; daughter-in-law, Annett Eiffert; grandchildren, Jasmine and Rosemary Uyeda; daughter, Susan Uyeda; sister, Yone Ito; brothers: Haruo Kato, Takeo Kato and Kiyoshi “Keith” Kato and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, 11 a.m. at Adobe Creek Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, CA 94952. Interment will occur at Mount Hope Cemetery in San Diego, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sumiko’s name to the Petaluma Meals on Wheels, 25 Howard St, Petaluma, CA 94952.
