Steven WidgerSteven Widger, 65, of West Lafayette, passed away on June 10, 2017 at 1:35 a.m. at his residence.  Steven was born on September 5, 1951 in Crawfordsville to the late Charles and Mickie (High) Widger.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1969.  Steven served in the National Guard from 1970-1975, and then went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in History & Psychology from Indiana State University.  He worked for Purdue University as a receiving clerk for 15 years before retiring in 2014. Steven enjoyed going to Drum & Bugle Core shows, musicals, and was an avid animal lover and dog rescuer.Surviving is his spouse, Daniel Whiteley of West Lafayette, one sister, Lavonne (Max) Simpson of Crawfordsville, 2 nephews, Trevor (fiancé: Kristina McAlister) Simpson, and Tim (wife: Mini) Simpson, and 3 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Natalie's Second Chance No Kill Dog Shelter, 10 S. 16th, Lafayette, IN, 47905.  Share memories and condolences at www.simplicity-funeralcare.com.
