LAGRANGE — Steven "Tom" Knight, D.V.M., 73, of LaGrange, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Life Care Center of LaGrange. He was born on June 19, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late, Lester F. Knight, D.D.S. and Catherine McKenzie. Tom was a 1960 graduate of Three Oaks High School in Three Oaks, Michigan. He was a 1967 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. He moved to LaGrange in 1967 from Lansing to work as a veterinarian. In 1986, he opened Northside Veterinary Clinic in LaGrange. Tom was a member of the Meridian Sun Lodge F&AM #76, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1981, Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne, Valley of Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and the LaGrange County Shrine Club. Tom enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching all kinds of auto racing, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Michigan State football and basketball. He was a very social person who never met a stranger and he would have considered the Tamarijn Resort in Aruba his second home. On July 12, 1985, he married Judy A. Carver in LaGrange, Indiana. She survives in LaGrange. Also surviving Tom are his two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Tony Kraft of Plainfield, Illinois, Jill Smith of Angola, Indiana; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason Knight of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jeff and Michelle Stanner of Angola, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Andrew Kraft, Hailey Dykstra, Ian Smith, Carsen Stanner, Khloe Stanner, Brooke Martin and Mikaela Martin. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at the LaGrange First Church of God, 777 North Detroit St. LaGrange, Indianas. Pastor Benjamin H. Stuckey will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service time. The Meridian Sun Lodge F&AM #76 will conduct funeral rites at the church.
