Silvia JacksonSilvia G. Jackson, 87, of Leesville, LA, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 27, 1930 in Santa Fe de Veraguas Republica de Panama. Silvia was a great cook and loved to cook for everyone. She would never give away her secret family recipes in full. She loved to travel all over Europe and to Hawaii. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her four children, Jenny Rogers and husband Shelly of Leesville, LA, Brenda Martinez and husband Rene of Leesville, LA, Gary Jackson and wife Gina of Orange, TX, Cynthia Gonzalez of Rosepine, LA; brother, Milciades Gonzalez of Panama; sisters, Eva Gonzalez and Norma Gonzalez of Panama, Aura Claudio of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Silvia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Delbert E. Jackson; parents, Hipolito Gonzalez and Modesta de Buitrago; along with stepfather, Goyo de Buitrago. A Memorial service will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Leesville, LA, on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 11:00am. A Rosary will be at the church on Sunday, September 3, 2017 starting at 5:00pm. Visitation will follow from 5:30pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at the church on Monday from 10:00am until the service. A private family Graveside service will be held at a later date.
