We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sierra Belafiore, who left us too soon on July 22, 2025. Born on October 11, 1972, in Poughkeepsie, New York, Sierra lived a life full of love, laughter, and endless adventures.
Sierra was the beloved partner of Sean Belafiore and the devoted step mother of eleven children: Hector, Keyonte, Zoë, James, Nicholas, Gabriel, Christopher, Anthony, Jameir, Jeremy and Shawn. She also leaves behind six grandchildren.
Sierra dedicated her life to helping others as a youth trauma advocate at Safe Horizon. Her passion and commitment to making a difference in the world earned her the title of Champion of Change in 2005.
When Sierra wasn't busy changing lives, she could be found pursuing her hobbies, which included Bachata dancing, boxing, and golf. She had a zest for life that was infectious to all who knew her.
Unfortunately, Sierra's life was cut short due to complications from pneumonia. While we mourn her unexpected loss, we also celebrate the incredible person she was and the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind.
Sierra blazed through life with grit, wit, and a fire all her own. She didn’t play games—she made the rules—and somehow still found time to show up with a fix, a laugh, or a perfectly timed truth bomb when you needed it most. She was the kind of woman you don’t forget, because you never met another like her. Sierra didn’t just live—she lived loud. And though she’s gone, her strength, sass, and unshakable presence will echo in every life she touched.
As the Wu-Tang Clan said: “The game of life is hard to play, I'm gonna make it anyway.” Sierra did more than make it—she owned it.
