This obituary is administered by:

Sidney Klinksiek, aged 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Lexington Kentucky on Thursday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Sidney is the son of the late Belton and Josephine Klinksiek. Born on March 25, 1957, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Sidney was baptized on April 7, 1957 in the church of St. Mary’s in Fredericksburg, Texas. Growing up, Sidney was an exceptional athlete, who played football at Texas Tech University and graduated in 1980. He was also a graduate of Owen at Vanderbilt School of Management, as well an ordained minister, just to name a few of his accomplishments. He loved being a judge at the horse track, hunting, fishing, and had a passion for being a volunteer Fireman. He later moved to Austin, Texas to work in sales. In 1983, Sidney married the love of his life, Tammar Dawn Cannon at the St. Matthew’s Church in Austin, Texas. Together they proudly raised four sons – Blake, Weston, Grant and Slade Klinksiek. Sidney’s career required him to travel extensively throughout the years, moving his family sixteen times and still, his life was a testament to his strength, dedication and love for his family and Jesus Christ. Above all else, family was the most important thing in Sidney’ life. Sidney found his calling in sales, working to sell fire trucks, and equipment for first responders. In 2017, his life took a challenging turn when he suffered a massive stroke. This led to a lengthy recovery process, and forced retirement. His resilience and lifetime passion for first responders was recognized when he was named an honorary fire fighter and police officer for the city of Lexington, Kentucky on February 13, 2024.

Sidney is survived by his wife, Tammar Klinksiek of Lexington, Kentucky; Four sons and their spouses: Blake and Ashley Klinksiek of Rogersville, Missouri, Weston Klinksiek, Grant and Brittnie Klinksiek, and Slade and Chelsea Klinksiek of Lexington, Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Colt, Carson, Alivia, Evi June, Crew, Lyra, and Aria Klinksiek; two sisters and two brother in laws, Peggy and Reagan Schwarzlose of Collyville, Texas, Connie Bost of Cypress, Texas, and David Cannon of Rye, New York, along with nine nieces and nephews.
