A life well lived

Shlomo Hamelech died in 931 BCE at the ripe age of about 60. Shlomo was born to David, and Batsheva, in 990 BCE. Shlomo was king until he died in 931 BCE. He was a beloved husband, king, and father to many. Shlomo had three named full brothers, named Nathan, Shammua, and Shobab. He had many half brothers too, from other mothers. Shlomo accomplished many great things in his life including building the Beit Hamikdash, solving the dilemma of the famous baby story, which is called "Judgement of Solomon", and he got a lot of gold and money for the nation. Shlomo also had really good alliances with the surrounding nations, so his time of rule was known as a time of peace. Shlomo ruled from 970–931 BCE. In addition, Shlomo wrote three of the books in the Torah which were Mishlei, Kohelet, and Shir ha-Shirim. Shlomo was known for being very wise, and there is a famous story where the Queen of Sheba came to Shlomo, and asked him many difficult questions. He knew the answer to all of her questions. The queen gave him a lot of spices and gifts. Shlomo gave her gifts too. Shlomo also talked to Hashem many times and had a good relationship with Him. Shlomo Hamelech had seven hundred wives, which were described by many as 'foreign princesses'. In addition to his many wives, Shlomo had three hundred concubines. Many people say that Shlomo disobeyed Hashem by having too many wives, too much gold. Also, he let his wives 'turn his heart' away from Hashem's ways. Shlomo let his many wives practice their own religion, and he funded their religious needs. Examples of the wives of Shlomo were Pharaoh's daughter, and Naamah the Ammonite.
