Our sweet mother Shirley M. Arnett entered Heavens Gates peacefully with family at her side on January 18, 2017 at the age of 81.Shirley was born on September 15, 1935 in Maxwell, NM to her parents Marvin and Jewell Sims. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1953. She married Bobby J Arnett in 1953 and enjoyed 61 years together.After moving to Ruidoso in 1968 she started her career in the medical field where she worked for Dr. Roger Beechie for several years then at Lincoln County Medical Center where she retired.Mrs. Arnett is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Morris; son, Bobby Arnett; daughter, Peggy Lawing; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Bobby Angermiller; seven grandchildren; Leslie Sewell (Andy), Jana Hopkins (Tim), Casey Arnett ( Kristen), Kalyn Hall (Dayne), Brynn Brown (Tony), B.J. Angermiller (Christie),Codi Burnham (Kyle); 14 great grandchildren; and brother Cecil. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Arnett; parents, Marvin and Jewell Sims; brothers, Durwood; Delmer; Alton; Jimmy and daugher-in-law Kelly Arnett.Memorial Service will be held Febuary 18th, 11:00 am at the Methodist Church in Ruidoso, NM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Santa Fe National Cemetary.
