Shirley Jean BrockOlathe, Kansasformerly of Des MoinesShirley Jean Brock passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Evergreen Hospice in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on March 9, 1926 in Bayard, Iowa to Doris (Peardon) and Glenn Marchant.Shirley married James C. Brock on October 2, 1941. She took care of her family and the family home for many years. She was a long time member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church when she lived in Des Moines. She enjoyed traveling, camping, visiting with relatives and women's ministry.Shirley is survived by her children, James (Nancy) Brock of Edgerton, Kansas and Judith (Mike) Pilacelle of Lucerne, California; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; two brothers; and her sister.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
