Shirley Houston was born March 15, 1937, in Bermingham Alabama to James and Elizabeth Portis. Both parents and husband proceeded her in death. She graduated from Akron University with a degree in nursing where she used for her 37 years at the VA medical center.

When Shirley wasn’t enjoying her loads of grand children she was in the church choir. Singing for the Lord was her favorite this to do and in his house was her favorite place. On January, 2nd 2019 she gained her wings home after years of health issues.

She leaves to morn her loss sons Henry Houston, Carl Houston, and Lester Houston. Daughters Charlene Brasson and Sharon Lewis. Left to cherish her memories her 20 grandchildren 42 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
