Hitmar, Shirley Hitmar (Riddle) Shirley 80 of Peoria, AZ passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday January 18, 2017. Shirley was born on December 12, 1936 in Erie, PA and is the daughter of Jerome and Jean (Selinger) Riddle. She is survived by her loving husband Charles (Chuck) of 43 years. Theirs was the most perfect and loving relationship. Shirley is also survived by brothers Jerome Riddle Jr. (Liz), David Riddle (Lynne), John Riddle (Terri) and sisters Patty Riddle, Dianne Mangum (Jim), Lois Atkin (Norm), Mary Riddle (deceased) and many nieces and nephews. Shirley is a graduate of Villa Maria Academy and was voted "Top Teen" during her senior year. She graduated from Villa Maria College with a Degree in Education and taught for 44 years. Shirley enjoyed her husband's music (jazz saxophone) and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. on Tuesday, January 24th between 5:00pm - 8:00 pm and Mass at St. Thomas More, 6180 W. Utopia on Wednesday January 25th at 10:00 am. Following graveside services at Resthaven there will be a luncheon at the Church.
