Shirley R. Davis1929 - 2014Shirley R. Davis, 84, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at St. Josephs Home for the Aged with her family by her side. Shirley was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Kenosha to Paul and Lillian (Grady) Kleinschmidt. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School. Shirley married Kenneth Davis Sr. in Waukegan, Ill. For many years she was a night attendant at St. Josephs Home during the 1970s. In 1980 Shirley and Ken moved to Maryville, Tenn., and enjoyed their time there until returning to Kenosha in 2010. While in Tennessee Shirley enjoyed helping with physical therapy for the handicapped. She enjoyed knitting and reading, but her greatest joy was the time spent with her family.She was preceded in death by, her parents; her brother, Edward Kleinschmidt and her sister, Gloria Kollan.Shirley is survived by, her husband, Kenneth Davis Sr. of Kenosha; four children, Tina (John) Jankiewicz of Rhinelander, Sue Kriston of Kenosha, Kenneth (Mary) Davis Jr. of Trevor and Fay Davis of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Heidi, John, Michael, Paul, Kenneth III, Matthew, Timothy and Melissa; seven great grandchildren, Chloe, Cade, Macy, Alex, Damien, Devin and Tabatha; her sister, Alice Olcsvary of Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance (10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158) would be greatly appreciated.
