Shirley Guynn of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on January 27, 2026, just four days after her 83rd birthday. Born on January 23, 1943, Shirley was the daughter of Roman J. Yoder and Katie (Hochstedler) Yoder. She was married to Walter V. Guynn in 1962 and they had two daughters, Danielle West (Brian West) and Amanda Guynn, who brought them great joy. Shirley was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, Libby West, Asher West, Josiah West, Miriam West, Evan West, Deviyoughn Hartson, Trejaughn Guynn, and Keevaughn Guynn
Shirley attended Western High School and graduated in 1961 before embarking on a long and fulfilling career at Shirley's Diner. She worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2011, always finding joy in helping to organize food banquets and events.
When Shirley wasn't working, she enjoyed spending her time playing Bingo, knitting, playing volleyball, and solving puzzles. Her cheerful spirit and warm smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Shirley fought a brave battle against cancer, but ultimately succumbed to the disease. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will never be forgotten.
