Smith, Sheryl Janine Sheryl Janine Smith (Bethel) was born on July 4th, 1960 to Jack and Wilma Bethel. Sheryl passed away on April 28th, 2017 in Chandler, AZ due to complications with liver cancer. Sheryl was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Her and her sisters; Vicki, Teresa and Jackie all graduated from Maryvale High and stayed close throughout adulthood. Sheryl loved that she shared a birthday with USA's Independence Day, so much so that she also made it her wedding day. Sheryl married Ron Smith on July 4th, 1993 and they set up their life in Ahwatukee. They raised 4 daughters; Nicole, Natalie, Megan and Ashley in Ahwatukee and filled their lives with love, laughter and sports. From their daughters, they have 2 grandkids, Payton and Ryan, who Sheryl adored above all else. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Sheryl's life at Resthaven Mortuary & Cemetery, 4310 E.
