Sherry BlackLas Vegas - Sherry A. Black, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31st at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV after a long illness. Sherry was born on August 9, 1952, in Washington, IA to Kenneth and Vera Weidner. She was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School and earned her Associate's degree from Kirkwood Community College as well as her Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. She was a long-time employee of Kirkwood Community College's Iowa City Campus until she retired in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Megan A. Black of Las Vegas; two sisters: Elva Weidner and Vera Mason, both of Las Vegas; two brothers: Larry Weidner of Washington, IA and Steve Weidner of Las Vegas and several nieces and nephews.
