Sharon L. DareApril 3, 1939 - Nov. 8, 2016OSCEOLA - Sharon L. Dare, 77, of Osceola, IN, passed away at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 3, 1939, in South Bend, IN, to the late John and Sybil (Dribelbis) Springman. On September 13, 1980, in Mishawaka, IN, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Dare, who preceded her in death on July 18, 2004.Sharon is survived by her daughter, Lynnette (Travis) Grable-Glossenger of Osceola, IN; son, Anthony V. Grable of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Travis Grable, David Mackowiak Jr., Jordan and Aaron Mackowiak; sister, Marilyn K. (Wesley) Oden of Lakeville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.Sharon lived most of her life in the local area, except for twenty years she lived in California. She was the valedictorian of Lakeville High School in 1957. She planned on going to fashion design school in Chicago after high school. Sharon worked as a secretary for Lavens Insurance Agency, Bruner Insurance Agency, Culp Insurance Agency and Ara Parseghian Hanlon Insurance Company. She was a member of the Insurance Women's Association of South Bend. She was an accomplished poet, publishing many of her poems. Sharon was an avid seamstress and won many 4-H awards. A special thanks to Real Services caregivers for the compassion and kindness given to Sharon. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St.,South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.Contributions in memory of Sharon L.
