It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shana J Steverson, a beloved mother, grandmother, widow, and friend. Shana peacefully passed away on June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family, at the age of 47.
Born on December 11, 1947, in Alabaster, Alabama, Shana grew up with a passion for the outdoors and a deep love God and her community. After graduating from high school, she went to trade school and further her education for cars. Where she also met the love of her life, William Wetter. Later, she went back to school and received another degree.
Shana is survived by her children, Kristina Steverson, Joesph Steverson, Douglas Steverson and Tiffanee Steverson, Courtney Steverson, and Ruby Wiggins, She is also survived by her grandchildren Mason Steverson and Major Francis. She is survived by her brothers Kenny Wayne and Brian Steverson. She was and amazing mother, sister and friend, who did anything and everything to make sure her family was taken care of.
Outside of work, Shana loved nature, fishing, and camping but most importantly with her family. She spent countless weekends passing on her love for nature to her children and grandchildren. She also volunteered regularly at her local church, where she served as a mentor to many younger members of the congregation.
Shana’s family invites you to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Community Baptist Church, Alabaster, Alabama. After the service, we will meet at Cedar Grove Cemetery for the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shana’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
Shana will be remembered for her generosity, her dedication to family, and her unwavering faith. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
