Serafin Joaquin Ulibarri, 75, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.He was born on Aug. 1, 1938 in San Pablo to the late Pablo Ulibarri and Apolonita Salas-Ulibarri.He was united in marriage on Aug. 3, 1957 in Las Vegas, to Maria Anna Lucero.A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Apolonita Ulibarri; brothers, Emilio Ulibarri, David Ulibarri, Sr. and Alfredo Ulibarri; sisters, Fedelina Montaño, Rose Crespin and Maria Gonzales; and brother-in-law, Jose Scott Garcia.He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Ulibarri of Las Vegas; daughter, Lisa Saiz and husband, Jimmy of Las Vegas; brothers, Laureano Ulibarri, Antonio Ulibarri and wife, Valentina, all of Las Vegas; grandchildren: Jimmy Saiz, Jr., and wife, Francine of San Diego, Calif., Jason Vialpando of Albuquerque, Jonathan Vialpando and Rachel Encinias of Albuquerque, Jeffrey S. Saiz of Las Vegas, Justin Saiz and Iisha Trujillo of Las Vegas, Jeramie Saiz of Las Vegas; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sally Garcia of Denver, Colo., Benita Pleece of San Jose, Calif., brother-in-law, Frank Juarez of San Jose, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Jimmy Saiz, Jr., Jason Vialpando, Jonathon Vialpando, Jeffrey S. Saiz, Justin Saiz, Jeramie Saiz, Adam Vialpando and Alex Ulibarri.
