Sean Ira McFadden Obituary

Dec 08, 1972 - May 11, 2026

This obituary is administered by:

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sean Ira McFadden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Sean departed this life on May 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family, who were the center of his world.

Born on December 8, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland, Sean was the cherished son of the late Ernest McFadden and Larletta Douglas. From a young age, Sean demonstrated a spirit of resilience and a heart full of compassion, traits that would define his life. He was predeceased by his father, his sister Shemida Watson, his childhood best friend Glenn Peay, and his adult best friend Maynard Adams.

Sean's legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of his devoted wife of 24 years, Shirley McFadden, his daughter Takisha Moorehead, and his son DreSean McFadden. He is also survived by his granddaughter Ariyah McFadden, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. His brothers, Stephen McLaurin and Gerald McFadden, and his sisters, Verlenisa Heriott-Franklin, Mildred Witherspoon, and Yvonne Taylor, will forever cherish his memory. Sean is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Paulette Hendricks, brother-in-law Ernest Jones, Sr. (Sandra), his special cousin and partner in crime Dawn Adams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sean's journey through life was marked by dedication and service to others. Educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools, he honored his father's legacy by enrolling in Barbering School during his senior year of high school. Sean discovered his passion and graduated with a Certificate in Barbering, going on to become a Master Barber. For 33 years, Sean was a cornerstone of The 43rd Flavor Barber & Beauty Salon. His barbering chair was more than a place for a fantastic cut; it was a platform for mentorship and community growth.

Sean devoted his life to Christ from an early age and, alongside Shirley, joined Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in 2022. As the Head of Security, Sean greeted members with a smile and ensured their safety. His church family, from the youngest to the oldest, held him in high regard. Under the guidance of his longtime friends Pastor Albert and First Lady Tyra Molden, Sean deepened his faith, serving in the Men's Ministry to uplift and support others.

A master of both the grill and the chessboard, Sean was an avid Ravens fan and always ready for a match. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his love for his family and the joy he found in travel and good food. Sean's laughter was contagious, his smile lit up every room, and his heart was as big as his love for those around him.

Sean was a humble man, a faithful son, and a devoted family man. As a father, he was a role model, praying for his children more than himself. His eyes lit up with pride and love whenever his granddaughter, Ariyah, was near. As "Pop Pop," he found immense joy in their time together.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sean's life on May 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the March Family Life Tribute Center, located at 5616 Old Court Road, Windsor Mill, MD 21244. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated team at the University of Maryland (Downtown Campus), Department of Neurology and Vascular Medicine, for their care, love, and support.

Though Sean's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. His authenticity, kindness, and integrity will forever be remembered and cherished. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the love and the memories, knowing that Sean's legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
