Samuel H. Shirey, age 94, of Painted Post, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Corning Centers. He was born on November 5, 1921 in Indiana, Pa the son of Henry and Mary Jane Holstein Shirey. He married Margaret Wilt Shirey on January 1, 1945 in Indiana Pa. She predeceased him on November 5, 2002. Samuel retired from the Armstrong Telephone Company in 1987 with 40 years of service and he was a founding member of the Addison Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was an avid gardener and spent time caring for his roses. Samuel remained close to his family and he looked forward to the family reunion every year. He is survived by his long time companion, Shirley Michaluk of Painted Post, daughters, Linda Warriner of Florida and Donna (Reggie) Lewis of Connecticut, daughter-in-law, Alberta Fulkerson of Addison, grandchildren, Shawn Warriner, Tara (Joey) Siler, and Tricia Shirey, great grandchildren, Samantha Warriner, Hannah Siler, Ivy Hill, David Smith and Brooke Northrup and many nieces and nephews. Samuel was predeceased by his son Samuel R. Shirey, one brother and four sisters. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall Street, Addison on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
