Samuel McGhee, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on June 9, 2024, at the age of 74.

He was born on December 13, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, where he lived a fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones and close friends. He was the fourth oldest of 8 siblings.

Samuel was a devoted husband to Jacqueline McGhee and a loving father to their five children: Sons, Samuel McGhee III, Shaun McGhee, David and Janine McGhee and daughter Carrie Pruitt and Son-in-law Lawrence E. Pruitt. He had many nieces and nephews and five grandchildren.

He was a Marines veteran and a retired Detroit Police Officer.

Samuel will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services with cremation will be provided by James H. Cole’s Funeral Home on June 18, 2024.

Family Memorial Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery with a Military Honors Ceremony on June 29, 2024.
