Ruth Olevia Lawrence HortonRuth Olevia Lawrence Horton, 68, passed away at her home in Memphis, TN on Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born on April 9, 1948 in Alexandria, LA. She was the oldest daughter of Andrew and Mary Lawrence of Deville, LA. Ruth moved to Memphis, TN in 1990. She was a bright light in the lives of those she touched. She loved good music, creole food, and most of all devoted herself to her faith, family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of 24 years, her sons, Kevin McNeely and Edward McNeely, both of Deville, LA; daughter Krysten Levin (Mark) of Little Rock, AR. Mrs. Horton is also survived by nine grandchildren (Austin McNeely (Haley), Chance McNeely, Cody McNeely, Kalli McNeely, Kelton McNeely, Kade McNeely, Hallie Pingel, Philip Levin, and Samuel Levin); two great-grandchildren (Destinie and Jackson); one brother, Andrew Lawrence, Jr. (Debbie); one sister, Jeri Frazier (Ray), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held Wednesday, March 1 at 10:00 am at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Deville, LA. Burial will immediately follow services. A memorial service in Memphis, TN will follow later in March.
