NEWLAND Ruth Regina, 94, passed away peacefully on December 18th in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Regina M. and Michael J. McLendon of Creedmoor, NC. Ruth was born on July 13, 1922 and raised with her six siblings in Yonkers, NY. She met her husband-to-be Albert J. Newland at the age of 16. Their 45-year marriage yielded seven children and a lifetime of memories in their home in Glen Rock, NJ. In 1985, Ruth lost her beloved Albert and began the third phase of her life which would include time in Palm City, FL, New Bern, NC, and Wake Forest, NC. Wherever she lived, Ruth was always active in many civic and philanthropic organizations. Those left to mourn her are her five surviving children: Msgr Ronald A. Newland of NY [retired USAF Colonel-Chaplain], Junemarie Murphy of FL, Raymond W. Newland of PA, Regina M. McLendon of NC, and Robert A. Newland of FL, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as her two younger sisters Charlotte DuPell and Elsa Sista, both residing in FL. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, NJ. She will be interred at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
