Ruth McRae April 11, 1919 - March 4, 2017.Ruth Lillian McRae (nee Holbeck) passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side on March 4, 2017 at Crofton Manor in Vancouver BC at the age of 97. She was born on April 11, 1919 in Big Valley, Alberta. She will now be reunited with her late husband, Harry and her late son, Robert.Ruth is survived by her son, Bruce and his wife, Bev; her daughter-in-law, Ann McRae; her grandchildren Scott (Sarah) McRae, Kate McRae, Ron Sellers, Sheri (Blaine) Curry; her great-grandchildren Finn and Johanna McRae, Mackenzie Sellers, Marcus and Evan Curry; and many other relatives and friends.Ruth enjoyed spending her time with family and friends as well as playing bridge, lawn bowling, and belonging to the University Women's Club. A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox United Church, 5600 Balaclava Street, Vancouver, BC at 11 am on Friday, April 21,2017.The family would like to thank the staff of Crofton Manor for their kind and considerate care of Ruth during her years of living there.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to BC Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
