Ruth Gisela BraunRuth passed away peacefully on the morning of November 3, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband Willi, her three sons, Volker (Beryl), Ralph (Jacqueline), Mark, and four grandchildren, Monica, Austin, Justin, and Eric. She was born on September 18, 1932 in Reutlingen, Germany. Shortly after their wedding in May of 1958, she joined Willi in Canada. After living in Calgary and Edmonton, they settled in Saskatoon in 1964, and have called that home ever since. Ruth spent her initial years in Canada raising her family, often alone while Willi spent summers doing geological fieldwork. Once the workload of raising three boys subsided, she embarked on a career in real estate to help finance one of her true passions, travelling. On a couple of occasions she and Willi packed up the entire family and flew to Germany to visit family, and used the opportunity to explore other parts of Europe. Other passions included history, reading, music, gardening, and going for drives and walks in the countryside. A small service will be held for family and close friends at 11:00 a.m., November 8, 2017 at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). In lieu of flowers donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
