Russell Groom, 66, of College Station, Texas, passed on June 19, 2023.

In Loving memory of Russel David Groom October 3, 1956- June 19th 2023, Memorial Services Friday June 23rd 2023, Rock prairie Baptist church, 5000 Rock Prairie. College station, Texas.

 Russel was born in Kansas City, MO. The son of Jewel Harrison Groom Sr and Mary Idell (Knight) (Groom) Morgan. He grew up as a resident of Kansas City, and attended North East High School, where he was enrolled in the Reserve Officers Training Corps, til he moved to College Station. Most of his occupational career was spent as a baker and a cook. Russel was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Alexander Groom. His survivors include his step father Lee Morgan, and two brothers Jewel Harrison Groom, Robert A Groom, as well a sister, Janet Sue (Groom) Karmolinski of Mesa AZ; two step sisters Ruby Monteer and Tracey Munkers, and a step brother Jeff Morgan; his children Russel David Groom of Marshall, MO, Christopher Groom of Kansas City MO, David Hembrecht, Matthew Groom, Alexandra Groom, and Emmelee Groom of Liberty, MO; four grandchildren Donovan Groom, Elissa Groom, Eliza Groom, and Isabelle Groom; and hundreds of other family members and friends that loved him. A childhood friend, A pot luck dinner will follow the service at the church. Bring a dish and let us celebrate the life of the man Russel David Groom with our gathering. Flowers are welcome as well as a love Offering for the use of the church would be appreciated. A special thanks goes out to St Joseph health college station hospital , for taking care of my brother in his last weeks of life.
