Ruby Nell Watson
February 17, 1934 – April 29, 2025
Ruby Nell Watson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 29, 2025, in Clarkston, Georgia, at the age of 91. Born on February 17, 1934, in Saint Catherine, Jamaica, Ruby lived a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering strength.
She now joins her heavenly family: her cherished parents, Augustus and Shelley Ann Lawrence; her dear sister, Bertha Ann Smith; her brother, Donnie Ernest Lawrence; and her beloved son, Johnny Lee Watson. Johnny’s memory lives on through his three daughters: Tarvia, Sally, and Victoria.
Ruby leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Christine Renee Watson, Christine’s son Rodrick, and daughter Janie. She is also survived by her loving daughter Sharon and Sharon’s daughters, Shanley and Katrina. Her family was her pride and joy, and her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
A gifted seamstress, Ruby poured her heart into every stitch, creating beauty and comfort with her hands. She found joy in watching television shows from her homeland, connecting with her Jamaican roots. Above all, Ruby loved her family fiercely and cared deeply for her friends and community. Her kindness, wisdom, and warmth touched all who knew her.
As we celebrate Ruby’s life, we remember her with these words:
“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” – Thomas Campbell
