Ruby L. Thomas, 80, of Brookville, Pa passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa.She was born on May 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Merle Clinton Thomas and Sara Elizabeth Harriger Thomas.Ruby graduated from the Brookville Area High School, and the Bradford School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1956.She worked as a registered nurse for the VA Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and retired from the VA Hospital in Butler, PARuby attended the Ramsaytown United Methodist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir. She spent her whole adult life caring for others, and Ruby especially loved her family and was always there when she was needed. She loved walking, gardening, and farming.Ruby is survived by one Brother LeRoy Thomas of Brookville, PA and 2 Sisters: Phoebe Gelnette of Brookville, PA and June Christian of Falls Creek, PA She is also survived by numeruous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Clinton Thomas, Lawrence "Bill" Thomas, and 6 Sisters: Helen "Nancy" Knapp, Doris Cochran, Ilene "Jackie" Monks, Jean Davis, Anna "Marie" Hetrick, and Betty Zitzelberger.The family will received friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Peterson Funeral Home, 153 Jefferson St. Brookville, PA with a funeral service on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the funeral home with The Rev.
