A memorial service was Saturday at New Day Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. She was born Jun 6, 1929, in Jacksonville, FL to Charles and Phoebe Hardy Her father was a Doctor in the Yukon. Her mother came up from Juneau as a Nurse.  They moved to Jacksonville, in 1946.

Ruby spent summers at her grandparents in remote areas of the wilderness.   Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker while her husband was a Firefighter. 

She was an active member of the Brighton Presbyterian Church, belonged to the Arboretum Foundation garden club and worked with various charities.

Her interests included family, gardening, sewing and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 90.

 

Mrs. Hardy is survived by her seven kids   Four sons: Alvie, Oscar, Johnny, and Ricky Hardy and Three daughters: Johnny-Mae Walker, Joanne Hardy, Teresa Hunter. One sister and 18 grandchildren.
