Ruby Evelyn Bulen LUBBOCK-Ruby Evelyn Bulen passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 92 years on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Visit www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family. Ruby was born on Nov. 2, 1924, to the late Claud and Lula (Harris) Thomas in Rockwall, Texas. She married James L. Bulen on April 24, 1944, at Reese AFB. Ruby worked as a rate auditor for Time DC, Inc. until they closed. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church for over sixty years. She and James enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Canada in their travel trailer. She was a member of Hub City Wheels and volunteered at Covenant Women's and Children's Hospital. She is survived by her two sons, James D. Bulen and wife, Barbara of Lubbock, and Steve Bulen of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Stacy Bulen, Tony Bulen, and Nikki Donald; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Bulen; and three brothers, Claud, Bill, and Euless Thomas; and a great-granddaughter, Danae Donald. Memorials are suggested to the Lubbock Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79411.
