Roy Ervin Bowman, 73, passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, in Manassas, Va. He was born on March 18, 1943, in Virginia to the late Ervin F. and Sena H. (Melton) Bowman. Roy was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Washington Redskins. He was a Ford guy and loved working on cars. Roy also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, friends and his neighbors.Survivors include two children, Shelia Ann Steen and husband Donald of Manassas, Va., and Bobby Lee Bowman and Lynda Johnson of Warrenton, Va.; one grandson, Michael Allen Steen of Manassas, Va.; one brother, Charlie Bowman and wife Pat of Galax, Va.; three sisters, Hazel Easter of Cana, Va., Janie Higgins of Galax, Va., and Norma Payne and husband Dean of Galax, Va.The family received friends on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Va. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, 210 W. Center Street, Galax, Va.
