Roy Mayo Jr departed this life for eternal on Sunday January 13,2019 at Fishkill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center,

Beacon,NY. He was 65 years old.

Roy Mayo was born March 7,1953 in Whitakers, North Carolina to late Roy and Lorenza Mayo. He was educated in

Poughkeepsie School System. 

Roy started working for the Youth Opportunity Program(YOP) at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center as a teenager.

After graduation from high school Roy was hired as a full time employee at Hudson River Psychiatric Center where

he continued to work until his retirement with over 30 years of service.

Roy "Ned or Junie" as he was affectionately called by his friends and family was  predecreased in death by four siblings, Peter, Vester Ree, Vernell, and Linwood. He was also predecreased by one great nephew Davion Mayo.

During the last year of his life Roy was cared for at home by his uncle, Llody Lyons who he leaves to cherish his memory. Roy also leaves to cherish his memory a sister Althea M. Horton of Rocky Mount NC and a brother Rochester Bunn of Washington DC and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
